A new article was published

A research article, "Pregnancy parturition scars in the preauricular area and the association with the total number of pregnancies and parturitions", was published in American Journal of Physical Anthropology (Yuriko Igarashi, a co-investigator of B03, is the first author). This study clarified the association between the degree of development of pregnancy parturition scars (PPSs) and the total number of pregnancies and parturitions (TNPPs) on the basis of new identification standards for PPS in the preauricular area on the iliac bone. No PPS indicated no TNPP, weak PPS indicated a lower TNPP, and developed PPS indicated a higher TNPP. The percentage of each PPS category could indicate fertility in the population.

Acknowledgments: The authors are deeply indebted to the donors who donated their body to medical colleges for dissections within systematic anatomical education and research from 1989 to 2016, and their bereaved. This study would not have been possible without their generosity.
